The founders of the annual Salt Market arts and crafts show in Syracuse didn’t spend a lot of time thinking of a catchy name for their new companion show.
“We wanted something fun and playful,” said one of the organizers, Briana Kohlbrenner. “It was kind of like, ‘Let’s not overthink things.’”
And so, the Pepper Market was born.
Like its older sibling, the Pepper Market — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 8 — will showcase the work of local independent artists and designers. The wares include hand-painted mugs, comic books, linoleum block prints, and tins of cosmetics. What all of the products will have in common, aside from their local origin, is price: Everything is $30 or less.
